Brett Sims (ブレッド・スイムス) was the runner-up of the first American preliminary competition, the American Ninja Challenge. Because of this, he qualified to compete in SASUKE 19. There, he made it to the Jumping Spider but fell as many did that day.
He was invited back to compete in the following tournament, SASUKE 20 as well. There, he got farther, despite competing with an injured foot. However, due to his injury he struggled on the Spider Walk portion of the Jumping Spider, and he timed out on the Soritatsu Kabe.
